Certain degrees aren’t as useful as others, and depending on the field of study are looking to go into. While at times, a trade school may suit your needs the best, if you are going into a field where a degree will work best it may pay off to go for the minimum.
An associate’s or bachelor’s degree may help you get a job easier as opposed to some of the other options. This may come as a surprise, especially for those who grew up with the thinking that more was better. Based on job availability alone, those who pursue and complete associate and bachelor degrees seem to be having an easier time finding work than their more educated counterparts.
It seems strange, but when it comes to those looking for new employees associate and bachelor degrees are more fiscally sound. Especially with the economy, many are looking more for those with two more than many of the higher degrees.
That doesn’t mean that the more time intensive degrees however are a waste of money. Those with doctorates or professional degrees stand to earn more money than the rest, with an average earning annually of $100,000 and up. Those with the qualifications may have a bit more trouble finding employment in some areas, depending on where you live you may have a harder time finding that paycheck.
The figures above do depend on a lot of different things, namely what your field of study is. Depending on what you are looking into, some research at Payscale.com may help you decide which path is best for you.
